Night Milk

Do you know 'Night Milk'?
I heard about it on TV some years ago.
According to the TV program, if you drink a
'Night Milk', you can sleep very well. Because 'Night Milk' is milked from cow in midnight, there is much melatonin in the milk. Melatonin is an ingredient to sleep well. The TV program said it was very popular in Europe then.
After watching the TV, I wanted the milk very much. But I couldn't find the milk anywhere.
But, recently at last, I found the milk in supermarket !!
I bought it at once, and drank. Though I didn't know if it was effective or not because I drank only once, it tasted very good.
If you try it and feel its effect, please tell me!

Natto - Soba

Recently I eat Soba(buckwheat noodles) almost every night.
It is helthy, easy to cook, cheap, and delicious.
I usually eat it at home, but I have one delicious Soba restaurant in Sapporo. Its name is 'Yagumo'.

Yagumo's soba is 'Goma-Soba(Sesame buckwheat noodle)'.
Sesami is cut into very small pieces, and kneaded with buckwhet together.

The menu I like the best in Yagumo is 'Natto Soba'.
It's a cold Soba, and there are natto(fermented soybeans), cucumber, daikon oroshi(grated radish), takuan(yellow pickled radish), nori(dried laver) and a raw egg on the Soba. We pour souce over the soba and stir all ingredients, then eat it.
Maybe it doesn't sound appetizing for you. Actually, if you don't like natto, you wouldn't like it. But I think it is popular menu of Yagumo. When I went to Yagumo before, there are 5 people around my table. And 4 of all(including me) ordered 'Natto-Soba'!!
If you are curious person, why don't you try it?

An Incident in the Subway

Every weekday I go to work by subway.
One day after work, I was sitting on a seat in the subway as usual. There were one old lady on my opposite seat and a young woman next to me. I tried to read a book, but as soon as I opened the book, I got very sleepy. I began to nod over my reading; half conscious, half unconscious.

When the subway arrived at the station near my house, I awaked immediately and was stood up. Just then, one old lady sitting on my opposite seat came near to me, smiling.
She said, 'Oh, you must've been too tired!'
What? I was tired indeed, but... why she suddenly said such a thing?
The old lady went on her talking,
'What a patient woman she is, for you!'
I couldn't understand what she meant, but when I turned my face right, I found the young woman next to me looked very displeased.
Then I realized; I must have done something terrible!!
I said to them timidly,'Oh, I...I'm sorry.' Then they forgave me,
'No, no problem', and got off the subway without saying any more.

Even so, what on earth did I do? Was my body swaying? Did I leaned against the young woman? Or was I snoring loudly?

I wanted to know that very much, but I couldn't ask them because I was too embarassed. I'll never know the truth forever.
I decided to forget this awful incident, but I will never sleep in the subway.

Baby, welcome to Japan !!

Last week my friend had a baby.
The next day I heard of his birth, my co-worker and I went to see him and his mother in the hospital.
At the hospital, he was sleeping peacefully in his mother's arms. He was very very
little.
He didn't cry very much, but he sometimes moved his hands and legs with full of vitality.
We took his pictures and movies. We didn't get bored seeing him for over one hour.
My friend and her husband seemed very happy.

Yo-Yo !!

Some days ago, I found this odd and cute toy at a shop in supermarket Daiei.
This is a kind of yo-yos, and it is made of rubber.

When I play this yo-yo, it flashes for about ten seconds.
It was only 200 yen, and I enjoyed it like a child.

Season of Soft Ice Cream 2

Today I went to another soft ice cream shop which was new for me.
The shop's name is
'ugly duck', and it locates at Shinoro in Kita Ward.

I ate 'nata de cocoa parfait' and my friend ate 'chocolate parfait'.
The parfait was pretty good, the soft ice cream in it was very plain and had light sweetness.

At the shop, I saw Bob coincidently. But he was not the Bob of our SGU English teacher. The Bob I met there was ......SpongeBob!!

Strange Cherry !!

At a lunch time in my office, my coworker gave me some cherries which she had been sent from her friend.
The cherries were not so big, but they were very fresh and sweet.
Some fruits were very strange! Look at the picture, two fruits were close together and became one !!!

Homework!!

I choose these three questions from English Language Listening Lab Online (ELLLO)

#47 Are you happy where you live now?

4 of six people are feeling happy where they live.
One of the main reasons is to be convenient for doing something.
The rest two people are not feeling happy because of noise and being not safe.
People around them are also important for feeling happy or not.
As for me, I am feeling happy.

My apartment locates near subway station, therefore it's convenient for buying daily necessities. And the landlady is very kind. She sometimes gave me some peaces of cakes!!!

#21 Do you like the rain?

I was surprised because many of them like rain. Actually, I don't like rain.
But as I listened to their reasons, I felt rain was not so bad.
Rainy day is very calm, so we can be relax at home.

#11 What was your first part-time job?

Almost all people got some kinds of food job; restaurant, fast-food and bakery and so on.
One person got an exciting job at science museum.
The first part-time job for me was a salesgirl in supermarket. I sold instant coffee. It was only two day's job and I enjoyed very much. However, I couldn't get pay. The employee said to me, 'Oh, I don't have money, so I can't pay you.'
I think he had not intended to pay me from the beginning. It is galling memory for me very much.
