World Heritage, Shiretoko !!!

On the day after seeing bears, I left for the world heritage, Shiretoko, by bus.
The sky was covered with thick clouds in the morning, so my feeling wasn't good. But as our bus got closer to Shiretoko-Goko Lakes, the sky was suddenly cleared up. How lucky I was!!!
Shiretoko-Goko had five small lakes. I walked around one of them.
The natural environment has been preserved in that area.

After that, we left for Utoro
(Shiretoko Natural Center was there). We got on a cruiser there, and enjoyed the wonderful natural view of Shiretoko. It was magnificent sight !!

I also went to see The Oshinkoshin Waterfall. The sound of waterfall refleshed me.

I had short time to see the scenery, so I must always hurry everywhere.
I wish I could have more time!
But I've never had such a recreation for a long time. This trip will be a pleasant memory for me.

Bear Mountain in Sahoro

Last week I went to the 'Bear Mountain' in Sahoro.
It was made lately in resort area, it is three times larger than Tokyo Dome, and 16 bears live there. We can see bears much wilder there than in the zoo.

We had a short bus tour in the mountain. I heard they hadn't appered near us very much recently because the weather had been continuing sunny and hot. But the day wasn't good weather, so we could see many bears.

The bears were sleeping comfortably under the tree, enjoying in the cool water, and playing by the river.

I felt they were very pretty, but they were very big. Even the smallest bear weigh over 200kg, and the length of their nails is about 8cm!! There were high fences around the area in order to protect ourselves.

I was very enjoyed seeing bears there, it was very exciting day.
After that, we stayed the Kitami, and left for Shiretoko the next day.
I had a very good time in Shiretoko, too. I'll post about it soon.
